Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 3

Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 3 is the third game in the Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune street racing series based on the Wangan Midnight manga. The game builds on the elements of the first two titles with many new features as well. The VS mode now allows up to four players to race against each other through linked cabinets along with the course branching introduced in the previous game. Outrun mode, Story mode (80 stages) and Time Attack mode all return in a similar form. Ghost Battle is a new mode for the series. It allows players to race pre-recorded ghosts of other racers to earn dress-up points to upgrade cars with aero kits, decals, etc. It is possible to race ghosts from a Friends list, a Revenge list, by selecting one of ten difficulty levels, or by entering a Tuning card, which is also used to save progress and many game elements. Data from the previous title can be transferred.

This edition introduces three new courses (Hanshin Expressway, Yokohane Line and Wangan Line). There is new background music and new licensed vehicles from the existing manufacturers on top of the ones from the previous games for a total of 34.
