About

Rhem 4: The Golden Fragments takes the player back to the mysterious underground city of Rhem once again. The game begins where the previous game left off. Documents found reveal that there is a hidden transportation system which will open even more of the city for exploration, and perhaps an escape to the outside world once and for all. The main objective is to reform the key to the system using its nine missing pieces.

Like its predecessors, Rhem 4 is a first-person game inspired by Myst. It uses pre-rendered images with occasional live action video and animated puzzles. Although there is a back-story, the game is primarily puzzle driven. Careful investigation of the clues found in different areas, its surroundings, machinery and contraptions help the player unravel what actions will permit access to new rooms and sections of the city. Backtracking will be necessary since those clues may be contained in areas not explored as yet.

The game is played completely by mouse in point-and-click fashion. There are 18 game save slots, and an "auto save" occurs with each exit.
