Resident Evil Requiem has just received a brand new patch, adding a PHOTO MODE.

About a month after launch, the developers added a photo mode to the game. It’s not a huge update, more of a polishing patch plus one cool new feature.

Now that it’s here, players can take pictures, make selfies, capture different moments, move the camera around, change character facial expressions, and adjust poses while taking photos. They can even create scenes that don’t exist in the game itself. Players are already making memes and cinematic shots, which is great for the community.

However, one unusual thing in this update is that they changed character facial expressions in cutscenes.
It’s not very common for cutscenes themselves to be updated, but this time they were. They adjusted facial animations, emotions, and character reactions, likely to better deliver the emotional impact. It’s possible some scenes didn’t feel strong or convincing enough before, especially since there were complaints from players that characters felt a bit empty and emotionless. Capcom is known for this kind of perfectionism, often polishing and improving things after launch.

The rest of the patch is standard stuff: bug fixes, graphical improvements, CRASH FIX (PC) , progression bug fixed.

Resident Evil Requiem is a 2026 survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. It is the ninth main Resident Evil title, following Resident Evil Village (2021). It features a new playable character, FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, who investigates a series of mysterious deaths connected to survivors of the Raccoon City incident, with the help of federal agent and returning protagonist Leon S. Kennedy.
