Hades II FINALLY arrives on PS5 and Xbox this April

Hades II is finally coming to Xbox Series X|S + Game Pass and PlayStation 5. The release date is set for April 14, 2026.

As the developers stated, Hades II for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will run at an ultrafast 120 frames per second. They also announced that these new console versions will include some new bonus content, as well as quality-of-life improvements, although they didn’t specify exactly what those are. Players who already own the game will also receive these new additions on April 14, once the game launches on consoles.

The developers said that bringing Hades II to Xbox and PlayStation had been a goal since the first version 1 launch, which at the time earned numerous industry accolades, such as Best Action Game at The Game Awards. It also won Best Game on Steam Deck at the Steam Awards, as well as Best Foreign Game at the Pégases Awards.

Hades is a roguelike action role-playing game developed by Supergiant Games. It was released on September 17, 2020, for macOS, Nintendo Switch, and Windows. The main character is Zagreus, the son of Hades, and his goal is to escape the Underworld and reach Mount Olympus.

Hades II is a sequel to the first game of the same name, released in 2025. Unlike the original Hades, in the sequel players control Melinoë, the Princess of the Underworld and sister to the protagonist of the first game, Zagreus. She aims to defeat Chronos, the Titan of Time, who has returned to enact revenge on all gods and mortals who opposed him in the past and has taken her family prisoner.
