Countdown to January 2028

We are not against digital. We are for choice. Digital games should exist, but physical games should remain available for players who value ownership, collecting, sharing and preservation.
An open letter to Sony Interactive Entertainment
We understand your decision, and that it follows a broader trend in this industry — that digital sales today make up the vast majority of your revenue. Our goal is not to dispute your right to follow the market.
We are not asking Sony to abandon digital distribution, nor to slow it down in any way. What we are asking is simply that physical copies remain an option for those who want them — just as has been the case until now. Discontinuing them offers no improvement in service and no quality-of-life change; it represents nothing but a loss of choice.
A disc you own cannot be revoked, altered or switched off. It can be lent, gifted, traded and kept — and when the servers are gone, it is still a game. Physical copies don't need to be the majority of the market for their preservation to matter.
