About

Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea is a free Japanese RPG. The game's story revolves around the titular Wadanohara, a sea witch who lives underwater, and her familiars Memoca, Dolpi, and Fukami. After returning to their home under the sea, they are confronted by Wadanohara's former familiar Samekichi, before discovering that the rival Totsusa Kingdom has declared war on their people. Together, Wadanohara and her familiars venture to save their kingdom and reconcile with their past. Players explore the game world and fight enemies in the traditional turn-based combat of JRPGs, although non-boss encounters are generally optional, and the need to "grind" to gain experience is understated compared to most games of the genre. The plot is known for introducing unusually dark twists and tonal shifts as it progresses.
