The Evil Within: The Executioner

The Executioner is downloadable content for The Evil Within and lets the player control a Keeper character from the game. The story is focused on a man in search for his daughter and must follow diaries to understand the truth. The evil company MOBIUS gives orders to the player to eliminate other characters in order to safe his daughter from corruption by said characters. Killing other characters slows the corruption and lowers his daughter mental illness.

The controlled character can smash enemies with his weapons until they are dead or on the brink of death. Whilst on the brink of dead the player can perform an execution with a finishing blow. Tokens can be collected from the killed enemies and be used to purchase items in the shop. Smashing boxes placed around the levels will sometimes produce tokens as well. Kicking down doors, and extra-perceptory senses to locate your daughter, are used to find your way to your ultimate goal and the end of the level. Diary pages from your daughter, yourself and mission briefings are collectible items one can pick up on your quest.
