About

Tap My Katamari is an idle/incremental game similar to the design of Clicker Heroes and a spin-off of the Katamari franchise. Just like in the original game, the Prince (the player's character) rolls a ball-like katamari. All objects that are encountered along the way stick to it, making it grow. The King of All Cosmos wants you to make a katamari big enough so it can be turned into a star to restore the universe.

Shown from a side-view, tapping the screen makes the Prince push the katamari, moving it forward. By covering distance, stages are completed and every ten stages, there is a time challenge, acting as a barrier to check if there is enough strength to move on to the next set of stages. Along the way, coins are collected at a steady rate and these can be spent in various ways. The Prince can be upgraded many times to make him stronger and increase the coin yield. After several hundreds of stages, additional abilities with a cooldown period can be unlocked, multiplying the tap power (Charge 'n' Roll), tapping automatically (Magnetic Heart) and so on.

Coins can also be spent hiring cousins. These characters run along and provide support. They too can be upgraded several times and are unlocked gradually. After a certain amount of levels, they can access New Mojo, changing their abilities slightly. This process is repeated endlessly as there is no end to the game. After a set amount of stages, stars are earned that can be turned into presents. Every now and then, the king appears to provide additional coins.

The game is free-to-play with advertisements and in-app purchases. After returning to the game (it continues even when inactive), a certain amount of coins has been collected and this can be doubled by watching an ad. There are several boosts such as additional coins and a higher yield that can be bought with candy, the premium currency. Boosts such as Coin Fever can also be activated by watching an ad and sometimes a small amount of candy can be acquired in the same way. There are several worlds, each with their own objects.
