Sonic the Hedgehog

A remake of the 8-Bit SEGA Master System version of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Commodore 64. This release brings SEGA's iconic mascot to the classic home computer in a faithful recreation of the original game.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a 2D side-scrolling platformer where Sonic speeds through vibrant zones, rescues captured animals, and collects Chaos Emeralds while facing off against Dr. Robotnik. Compared to the Genesis version, it features slower-paced gameplay, distinct level designs, and a greater focus on exploration and precision.

The Commodore 64 version includes all levels, enemies, and gameplay features from the Master System original, and requires a 256 KB RAM Expansion Unit to enable smooth, high-speed scrolling — a technical first for the platform.
