About
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a Metroidvania-style action-platformer that blends seamless exploration with a richly emotive setting. Players assume the role of Ori, a guardian spirit, who embarks on a heartfelt journey to rescue Ku the owlet, heal a fractured land, and uncover a deeper destiny.
Gameplay centers on traversing a vast, interconnected world populated by platforming challenges and environmental puzzles. Ori gains abilities over time - such as double jump, dash, grapple, burrow, and swim dash - enabling access to previously unreachable areas. The game replaces the first entry’s linear upgrade tree with a flexible shard system: players collect spirit shards scattered throughout the world (and expand shard capacity via hidden combat shrines), equipping enhancements that modify Ori’s combat and traversal capabilities.
Features also include Spirit Trials, a competitive time-based challenge system where players race against ghost replays of others to earn rewards and unlock leaderboards. The world unfolds through richly hand-painted art, dynamic lighting, and a fully orchestrated score.
