Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Serpent's Heart

The Serpent's Heart is the fifth Challenge Tomb DLC for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It adds Slayer's Gauntlet as a new challenge tomb available right away from the main menu. The tomb can be completed as a score attack, a time attack or in exploration mode. It is a cooperative tomb that can be completed working together with another human player.

The tomb can also be discovered in a more natural way through the single-player story as the Two Graves side mission. In a cave in Paititi Hakan tells Lara about A'aron, a fellow revolutionary who works at the guard barracks in the upper city. Hakan suspects he is in trouble and asks if Lara can check it out. Unlike Hakan she has access to the upper city because of the priest outfit. As she tracks A'aron she has to take out several patrolling guards. While escaping A'aron leaves behind a strange paper with symbols Lara cannot read. After some more events it is revealed the men are after a weapon called Godslayer, which Lara then has to locate to save Hakan's life.

The actual tomb covers a large area with different types of gameplay. In the first part Lara needs to stay on a moving raft in Piranha-infested waters, running over temporary platforms, dodging hazards and finding ways to keep the raft progressing. The next part involved a tower-like monument, surrounded with fire hazards and moving spikes while still on a raft rotating around the tower. Finally the tower needs to be climbed.

The rewards are Divine Bounty as a new skill providing more gold pieces when looting enemies, Serpent Lash as a new bow and the Godslayer variant after completing the side mission, and the Dragon Scales outfit as well as a Legend variant after completing the side mission.
