About

Jack Drebin is an officer of the Local Security Force in a futuristic, dystopian city. A majority of the planet is flooded, the city protected by a dome acting as an artificial ozone layer. Security forces are tightening their grip on the city population under the pretense of fighting crime and terrorism. Access to and from the lower levels of the old city is restricted due to riots, and the bridge, the only connection to the outside world, has been closed down due to a terrorist threat. In these circumstances, Jack is investigating a suspected terrorist, a 20-year-old student supposedly building an explosive device in his apartment.

In this first part of a trilogy of point-and-click adventure games, players follow Jack in his investigation, which will soon have him doubt the official version of events. Thrown off the Force for reckless behaviour, he starts his own investigation into the terrorist plot. Players advance the story through interactive dialogues with several characters in the city, and by solving item-based puzzles. Scenes are static and characters don't move, with important events being told through overlaid panels in a graphical novel style. A two-button duck-and-shoot minigame is used in some action scenes.
