About
Omerta: City of Gangsters is a strategy game that takes place in Atlantic City during the 1920's, a time of prohibition, speakeasies, and gangsters. The player plays as a newly arrived immigrant to Atlantic City from a small village in Sicily, starting from the bottom and working his way up through the many echelons the Atlantic City Mafia has.
In the game, players attempt to become as powerful as possible within the Mafia. In order to do this, players can purchase many different types of establishments ranging from apartment complexes to speakeasies that not only increase income, but increase your hold on the city. As the game progresses, the ability to recruit your own little gang available. With this option open, players can attack other neighboring Godfathers and gangs to further increase the amount of territory you command. These battles is where the game becomes turn-based with light role-playing elements. Characters have individual characteristics and a custom load-out can be equipped. Different attack modes can be chosen and there is a cover system. The game offers co-op and multiplayer games as well as a sandbox mode, where you are free to explore and interact with the world on your own, opening the game up for much more gameplay.
