Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer

Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer is a 3rd-person adventure game. The story takes place in May 1998, a little over two-and-a-half years since the events of the previous game. Kathy Rain has opened her own private investigator's office in the city of Kassidy, but business is slow, and the bills are piling up. When her mentor, Lucas Longhorn, stops by and suggests she investigate the Soothsayer murders, as the mayor has recently put out a large bounty for information that can lead to the serial killer's arrest, Kathy decides to at least give it a shot. The Soothsayer has murdered five people so far, leaving a shattered obsidian mirror behind each time.

The game is an inventory-based adventure game. Kathy Rain can go from location to location, examining and collecting items, as well as talking to people. She carries a notebook, which is useful for jogging the player's memory as to what they should do next, as well as providing potential conversation topics when talking to people.
