Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Watanagashi-hen

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Watanagashi-hen is the second release in the Higurashi: When They Cry visual novel series. It includes parts 1 and 2 of the novel: "Onikakushi-hen" and "Watanagashi-hen".

It is a simple visual novel without branching paths or choices, where the player simply advances the text to read the story. After finishing each chapter, the player unlocks a number of optional bonus scenes called "TIPS".

The protagonist in "Watanagashi-hen" is Keichii Maebara, a teenage boy who has recently moved into the remote Japanese village of Hinamizawa. Keichii quickly develops a close friendship with a group of schoolgirls and joins their game club. However, after Keichii and several other people foolishly break an old taboo, strange and terrible things start happening in Hinamizawa.
