Emio: The Smiling Man - Famicom Detective Club

Emio: The Smiling Man - Famicom Detective Club is a point-and-click mystery/adventure game. As a budding detective at the Utsugi Detective Agency, the player assists the police with investigating the death of a young boy found with a paper bag over his head with a smiley face crudely drawn on it.

In this latest installment of the Famicom Detective Club, the player looks for clues, interviews witnesses and possible suspects, to try to piece together what happened to the young boy. His death is eerily similar to a string of unsolved murders of young girls 18 years prior, all of whom were also found with paper bags on their heads with smiley faces drawn on them. The murders echo the local urban legend of Emio, who wears a similar paper bag while appearing to crying young girls with the promise to give them a "smile that will last forever".
