About
An homage to a bygone era of computer gaming, Akimbo: Kung-Fu Hero is a 2D side-scrolling platform game. Akimbo takes on enemies such as skeletal warriors, rabid rhinos, giant clams, goggle-eyed spiders, and man-eating mosquitoes as he explores a brightly colored, hand-painted 2D world. The ultimate goal is to free the residents of Turtle Island from Fang, a fire-breathing dragon who has placed the tropical paradise under an evil spell.
The game is a true throwback to the PC and console games of the eighties. The gameplay is exactly what one would expect of a kung fu platform game: running, jumping, kicking and punching. The music is upbeat and simplistic; the sound effects are exaggerated. True to the platform genre, there are many levels to play through on the quest to defeat Fang.
