1½ Ritter: Auf der Suche nach der hinreißenden Herzelinde is a point & click adventure based on the identically named movie. The player takes the role of the knight Lanze who is the bodyguard of the beautiful princess Herzelinde. She is supposed to marry the evil count Trumpf, but one night she gets kidnapped by the Black Knight while Lanze is drunk. Now he has to brake out of jail to save her...

This game is a traditional and humorous adventure game with item based puzzles. To solve them, the player needs to combine items which can be found in the surroundings or are gained by solving other puzzles. Another important part are numerous conversations which are held with multiple choice dialogues. The game also features a help function which marks every item the player can interact with. These interactions are similar to The Curse of Monkey Island: the player needs to hold the left mouse button to bring up a coin. This coin shows three symbols (eye, hand and mouth) which trigger the associated action, e.g. the hands typically stands for taking an item. During the course of the game, there are a few mini games like a Happy Families variation or chicken roulette to solve.
