"Microsoft has announced that in April, they will launch Xbox Mode for all Windows 11 devices - including everything."

Starting next month, the line between your PC and your Xbox is officially blurring. Microsoft has announced that in April, they will launch Xbox Mode for all Windows 11 devices—including desktops, laptops, tablets, and handheld gaming PCs.

Formerly known during testing as the "Xbox Full Screen Experience," this update is designed to transform your Windows environment into a streamlined, console-like interface.

Far more than a simple UI skin, Xbox Mode is a dedicated environment fully optimized for gamers who prefer a controller over a mouse and keyboard. This mode introduces seamless gamepad-first navigation, allowing you to easily browse your entire library and adjust system settings without ever touching a peripheral.

To ensure maximum immersion, the system keeps a single application in focus at all times in full-screen mode, which minimizes distractions and background interference. Furthermore, by setting Xbox Mode to launch immediately upon startup, Windows 11 can load only the most essential resources, saving up to 2 GB of RAM—a significant performance boost for resource-heavy titles. This experience remains consistent and seamless across all hardware, from high-end desktops to portable handhelds like the ROG Ally or Legion Go.
