Xbox gets 4 new features, one will make everyone happy
“Xbox gets four new features, and the expansion of limited characters on gamertags will make every Xbox user happy!”
Xbox is continuing to improve the console experience with more quality-of-life updates, and the latest update brings four new features that should be arriving for all users very soon. While none of them are revolutionary on their own, together they represent some pretty useful improvements for everyday Xbox use.
The biggest change out of these four features is the expansion of the maximum gamertag length from 12 characters to 15 characters. This change will allow many players to finally use the username they actually want without having to shorten it or add random numbers just to make it work.
On top of that, Xbox is also introducing dedicated Gamer Hub pages for Xbox 360 games, as well as the option to launch a game through cloud streaming while the local version is updating. They're also adding an easier way to add games to your wishlist directly from the game card page.
The change that got the most attention from the community is the gamertag update, mainly because many players have been asking for a higher character limit for years, so this change has been received very positively. On the other hand, the cloud gaming feature has generated a lot of interest among Game Pass users, who see it as another reason to use the Xbox Cloud Gaming service.
Xbox may not have introduced some spectacular new dashboard, but it has received several extremely useful quality-of-life improvements.
Longer gamertags, cloud gaming during updates, better support for Xbox 360 games, and a simpler wishlist system might sound like small things at first, but details like these are often what make using a console every day a much more enjoyable experience.
