Wingspan finally gets a sequel! But this time it's a little different... IT'S GETTING A DRAGON SEQUEL!
The developers behind Wingspan are making a new game under the name Wyrmspan, and the concept is basically the same as the old Wingspan, except this time it's the FANTASY VERSION!
As we know, in Wingspan you collect different bird species, build habitats, combine abilities, create a cozy engine-building strategy, and much more.
Well, Wyrmspan does almost the same thing as Wingspan, except now instead of birds you collect dragon species, dig caves, build dragon sanctuaries, upgrade your cave system, etc etc...
So now it's less focused on the nature documentary vibe, and more on fantasy biology.
People are really hyped about Wyrmspan.
Wingspan has already been one of the most popular modern board games for years because it's very relaxing, strategic, cozy, and most importantly; extremely satisfying to play. That's exactly why the community sees Wyrmspan as the same dopamine loop, but for fantasy nerds.
A lot of people who weren't interested in birds immediately became interested because of the new dragon theme.
The most interesting part about this is that the game doesn't look like dark fantasy with brutal combat or some edgy dragon simulator, but more like a cozy dragon ecology simulator. And honestly, that's pretty unique.
The Wingspan formula is already proven to be amazing, and the dragon theme automatically attracts way more people than regular birds. The combination of cozy and fantasy vibes adds even more to it.
It looks like one of those games that will have the "just one more turn" effect for hours.
