Popular soulslike game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is getting a sequel soon, but what is important is that it is actually being made by a new studio.

It has been officially said that Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is getting its new sequel, and the development will be led by Xia Siyuan, creative director and one of the main creators of the original Wuchang game. However, this new sequel will not be developed by the original studio Leenzee, but by Siyuan's new studio called Indolphinity.

This is especially interesting because of everything that already happened with the original team.
Earlier this year, reports appeared that Leenzee had disbanded a large part of the Wuchang team that worked on the game, including Xia Siyuan himself. After that, the parent company of publisher 505 Games, Digital Bros, bought the rights to the Wuchang game in April for around €4.6 million.

Now that Siyuan is returning as the development leader of this new sequel, he is returning through the completely new studio Indolphinity, which was founded in Chengdu, China.

505 Games will continue to finance the sequel and publish it worldwide, while Indolphinity will be responsible for the creative development of the game. Both companies emphasized that development will remain rooted in China and that they want to preserve their authenticity and cultural identity of the series itself.

For now, there is no confirmed release date for the new game, nor has it even been revealed when we will get the first concrete details about it.
But it can be seen that the project is obviously not small at all. Digital Bros has allocated around €21.5 million, or around $25 million, for the beginning of the game's development, which shows that the publisher is seriously counting on the future of this series.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is getting a sequel, but under very unusual circumstances.

Original creator Xia Siyuan is returning as the project leader through his new studio Indolphinity, after the original development team at Leenzee was reportedly disbanded. 505 Games is financing and publishing the game, but for now there is no information about its release date.
