WoW players shocked as boss revives after “final” kill, entering the 'secret phase'!

The latest Midnight Raid progression saw one of the top guilds, Liquid - led by Maximum, pushing the boss L'uira down to 0% HP and seemingly getting a victory; they started celebrating immediately, and the players acted as if the fight had finished.

Then, within a few seconds, everything changed. Instead of dying, the boss came back and entered into a hidden final phase, and everyone was caught off guard.

Adding to the complexity for guilds racing for "World First", this twist turned what should have been a clear win into a vastly longer and more complex situation for guilds as they now need to learn and adapt to mechanics that they previously had no experience with.

There had been several reports of the possibility of a secret phase, but many players were sceptical because of the relative difficulty of the fight already. This surprise added an amount of challenge to what was already considered one of the most challenging encounters in the last few years.

This is also a testament to Blizzard’s methodology when it comes to designing raids, where the possibility of surprises and undiscovered mechanics exists even when the raid has been extensively 'datamined' and thoroughly prepared for.

Currently, all guilds are vying for a chance to complete the latest Tier-3 content in World of Warcraft.
