Wargaming has revealed the October updates for World of Warships and World of Warships: Legends, bringing new Premium ships, limited-time events, Halloween content and the beginning of the Road to New Year celebration.
October is shaping up to be a busy month for both versions of Wargaming's naval multiplayer game.
On PC, World of Warships Update 15.9 introduces the new Pacific Front event, additional ships in the Armory and a Halloween event pass. Meanwhile, World of Warships: Legends is getting a new four-week campaign, the Road to New Year event and additional Legendary Tier ships.
Pacific Front Arrives in World of Warships
The main attraction of October's World of Warships update is the new Pacific Front event.
Players will take part in Operations — grouped battle sequences that gradually build toward a final confrontation with a Primary Target.
Winning the final battle rewards players with Progress Tokens, which can be used to advance through a dedicated reward track.
The biggest reward waiting at the end is Monaghan, a U.S. Tier VI Premium destroyer.
Another event, Uncharted Seas, launches in the Armory on October 15 and introduces two Tier VIII destroyers: the Pan-Asian Datong and Dutch Philips van Almonde.
During the event, players can earn Seafarer Tokens and exchange them for rewards including a permanent camouflage, an enemy destruction effect and rare bonuses.
The Armory is also receiving the Italian Tier IX cruiser La Spezia, which will be available in exchange for Research Points.
Halloween Event Begins October 8
World of Warships is also preparing for Halloween.
Starting October 8, players will be able to progress through a special Halloween event pass featuring a range of seasonal rewards.
Among the rewards is the battleship Warspite, alongside Halloween-themed cosmetics and other items.
The Halloween content arrives as part of World of Warships Update 15.9.
World of Warships: Legends Starts Its Road to New Year
World of Warships: Legends is getting its own major October update, led by the four-week The Foghorn's Bride campaign.
Players who complete all 80 milestones with Admiralty Backing will unlock the British Tier VIII Premium cruiser Aberdeen.
Aberdeen is equipped with four twin 152mm turrets firing Armour-Piercing shells, with fast-reloading guns designed to deliver sustained damage against enemy ships.
October also marks the beginning of the Road to New Year event.
The event started on October 5 and gives players an opportunity to earn one of several rare ships for free.
Possible rewards include:
U.S. Legendary Tier Premium battleship Ohio
Soviet Tier VII Premium battleship Lenin
French Tier VII Premium battleship Jean Bart
Players can earn Giftlets by participating in activities across consecutive updates and later exchange them for rewards.
More Legendary Ships and Halloween Content
World of Warships: Legends is also getting a new Halloween battle mode, complete with its own selection of themed rewards.
The Pan-American Legendary Tier destroyer La Pampa has also arrived in the Store and is available in exchange for Steel from October 5.
Meanwhile, the British Legendary Tier battleship St. Vincent joins the game through a new Bureau Project.
With the Pacific Front, Halloween celebrations and the first stages of Road to New Year all running during October, Wargaming is giving players of both World of Warships titles plenty of new content to work through before the end-of-year events begin.
