Wargaming has launched the second season of World of Tanks: HEAT, titled Fire and Ash, bringing a new Agent, three vehicles, the volcanic Inferno One map, larger 20v20 Conquest battles, and a new system that keeps previous Battle Passes available after their seasons end.
One of the biggest additions this season is Gambit, a new Defender-class Agent designed to hold the front line and punish enemies who commit too aggressively.
His passive ability, Feedback Loop, applies a stacking debuff to vehicles that damage him. Once enough stacks are accumulated, enemy abilities can be temporarily disabled, with the effect becoming stronger at close range.
Gambit’s Ultimate, Iron Curtain, deploys defensive drones that temporarily increase his health and provide defensive buffs to nearby allies, allowing the team to withstand heavier incoming fire.
The new Agent arrives alongside two dedicated tanks, both of which can be unlocked for free through the Battle Pass.
The M60A3E2 uses Energized Plating to temporarily increase protection and track durability, while Blast Projectors unleash a powerful concussion blast against nearby enemies at the cost of increased risk to the vehicle itself.
The second tank, the T-72SH, features a Disruption Field Generator that interferes with enemy targeting systems, while Tesla Discs deploy devices that deal pulse damage and jam nearby vehicles.
Agent Ember is also receiving a new vehicle. The M1150 ABV is her second tank and is built around close-range combat, primarily through the use of a flamethrower. Its Line Charges and Incendiary Launchers also allow it to deal significant damage at medium range.
Inferno One changes during the battle
Season 2 also introduces a completely new map called Inferno One.
Set in an alternate-history version of Iceland, the map takes place in a once-thriving town devastated by a catastrophic volcanic eruption. The lava is more than just a visual element, as rivers of molten magma gradually move across the battlefield and constantly reshape the safe areas.
As a result, players will need to adjust their positioning throughout the match instead of relying on the same parts of the map from start to finish.
20v20 Conquest battles arrive
Fire and Ash also expands the scale of one of the game’s core modes with the introduction of 20v20 Conquest.
A total of 40 players can now battle on a single map, while the basic rules remain similar to the existing 10v10 Conquest format. Five bases can be contested at the same time, while respawns are unlimited.
Wargaming says 20v20 battles will initially be available during peak weekend hours, similar to the Plant/Defuse mode, with availability expected to expand over the course of the season.
Battle Passes will no longer disappear after a season ends
The Fire and Ash Battle Pass will remain active throughout Season 2, with Wargaming stating that all rewards can be earned for free through regular gameplay.
An optional Premium Battle Pass is available for 1,000 HEAT-Coins and allows players to unlock rewards in any order they choose.
A more significant change comes with the introduction of the new Archive system.
Starting with Season 2, unfinished Battle Passes will no longer disappear once their respective seasons end. Players will be able to return to them later and continue working toward their remaining rewards.
If Premium status has been purchased for a specific Battle Pass, it will also remain attached to that Battle Pass after the season is over.
World of Tanks: HEAT is a free-to-play, cross-platform tactical vehicle shooter set in an alternative timeline following World War II, combining armored vehicles with Agent abilities and experimental technology.
Season 2: Fire and Ash has been available since September 2, 2026.
