LONG LIVE Windows 10! Microsoft has decided to actually listen to the fans and extend the life of Windows 10, meaning you'll continue getting security updates all the way through 2027.

If you're still using Windows 10 and weren't planning to switch to Windows 11 because of your disagreements with it and its downsides, GREAT news has arrived for you! Microsoft has decided to quietly extend the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. This means users will continue receiving security patches for Windows 10 until October 2027.

Microsoft's original plan for Windows 10 was for the ESU program to last until October 2026, one year after official support for Windows 10 ended. However, Microsoft has now decided to extend the deadline by another year, and everyone already enrolled in the program will automatically continue receiving security updates without needing to sign up again or pay anything extra.

However, it's important to note that this only applies to security updates, so new features and major updates for Windows 10 will no longer be released.

The community has mostly reacted positively to this news. Many users believe Microsoft has finally listened to its community for a change, while others see this decision as an admission that a large number of people still aren't ready for Windows 11. Across social media, it's common to see comments saying that the extra year of support is welcome for anyone who wants to keep using their current PC a little longer.

Even though Windows 10 has officially reached the end of its lifecycle, Microsoft is giving it one more chance.

Thanks to the extended ESU program, users will be able to stay on Windows 10 throughout 2027 without worrying about security risks. For many people, this means more time to decide when the right moment is to move to Windows 11, or maybe even buy a brand-new PC.
