After a month of qualifiers across Bosnia and Herzegovina, everything is ready for the final showdown on Saturday, November 7, when the Red Bull Wings Cup National Final will take place. The 16 best players of the popular football video game EA SPORTS FC™ 27 will compete for the national championship title and the opportunity to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Final in Miami in January 2027.
The road to the National Final has been anything but easy. Over the past month, approximately 30 qualifying tournaments were held at universities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, where students demonstrated their skills on the virtual football pitch. From Sarajevo and Tuzla to Mostar and Banja Luka, the Red Bull Wings Cup brought together gaming and football enthusiasts, with the eight highest-ranked players from the University League securing their places among the national elite.
At the same time, players outside the university qualifiers also had an opportunity to prove themselves. Through the Red Bull Wings Cup Open League, held on October 25 on the online platform FACEIT, eight of the country's best competitors secured their places in the National Final. This completed the final lineup of 16 players who reached the same opportunity through two different qualification paths: to become the best in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
There is no longer any room for mistakes at the National Final. The 16 finalists will face each other in direct elimination matches, where every goal, save, and tactical decision could mean the difference between advancing and being eliminated from the competition. All matches will be played in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 Kick-Off 95 mode, and only one player will lift the winner's trophy.
The Red Bull Wings Cup National Final will take place at the Cantonal Student HUB at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Sarajevo on Saturday, November 7, starting at 6 PM. The event will be hosted by well-known football expert Nedo Turković and one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most recognized gamers, Nedim Lepić. Freestyle football star Maid Delić will also demonstrate his skills with a real football, entertaining the audience during tournament breaks. Admission to the National Final is free.
The stakes at the National Final are much higher than simply claiming the title of the country's best player. The winner of the Red Bull Wings Cup National Final will earn a trip to Miami, where the World Final is scheduled for January 2027. There, the winner will face national champions from other countries and have the opportunity to showcase their gaming skills on the global stage.
What makes the World Final special is that the challenge will not be limited to the screen. The Red Bull Wings Cup combines virtual and real-world football, meaning competitors in Miami will face real football challenges alongside their matches in the video game. It will be an opportunity to demonstrate not only how well they know the game but also how they perform when football action moves beyond the virtual world. The Red Bull Wings Cup thus opens the door for a new generation of gaming talent, giving players the opportunity to reach the international competitive stage from university classrooms and their own homes.
