Cult classic RTS game R.U.S.E has returned to Steam after 10 years! This is finally the comeback of a dead Ubisoft RTS game, and that after 10+ years!
R.U.S.E was removed from Steam back in 2015 due to major licensing issues, but now the original studio Eugen Systems has RE-RELEASED IT WITH ALL DLCs, technical improvements, and full Steam Deck support.

R.U.S.E originally came out in 2010 and was published by Ubisoft. But unfortunately, the Steam version was removed in 2015. The reason was expired licenses for certain military equipment and other content in the game.
For years, this meant that new players couldn’t legally buy the game and the community was practically frozen, which is why many people still don’t even know about this game today.
RTS fans have been asking for the return of this game for years.
R.U.S.E was a special game — let’s remember that even back in 2010 it got very strong reactions from fans because it made WW2 RTS feel very different. It used bluffing and deception as the main gameplay mechanic, and rewarded a psychological playstyle instead of just army spam.
Key parts of the playstyle are fake armies, fake attacks, hiding units, manipulating the opponent; it’s more of a mind game than classic RTS chaos.
This new re-released version includes all DLC packages, technical updates, Steam Deck verified support, but… THIS IS NOT A REMASTER VERSION! The graphics and core game remain practically the same as before.
It’s more preservation than a remake.
Steam reviews are currently overwhelmingly positive, but there are also criticisms for this game.
Some think the price is too high for a game from 2010. The launch price is around $30.
This re-release comes at a time when Ubisoft is having serious reputation problems, shutting down or removing older games, facing criticism over ownership and DRM policies, and much more.
Because of that, the return of a game like R.U.S.E feels almost unexpected.
Many fans see this move by Ubisoft as a good decision.
