"Ubisoft has officially revealed Year 11 Season 2 for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege during the Salt Lake City Major, introducing a major competitive overhaul through Operation System Override."

Ubisoft has officially revealed Year 11 Season 2 for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege during the Salt Lake City Major, introducing a major competitive overhaul through Operation System Override.

Focused heavily on competitive integrity and player feedback, the new season brings the long-awaited Ranked 3.0 update, a brand-new map called Calypso Casino, and a complete remaster of Dokkaebi.

At the center of the update is Ranked 3.0, described by Ubisoft as the biggest overhaul to Siege’s ranked mode since its introduction. The new system brings back placement matches alongside faster rank adjustments and removes the hidden MMR system entirely, allowing ranks to more accurately reflect player skill.

Matchmaking has also been redesigned so players primarily face opponents within the same visible rank, while updated squad restrictions aim to create fairer matches across all skill levels. Ubisoft says the progression system is now fully transparent, with rewards tied more directly to active participation and match completion.

Players can expect seasonal cosmetics, Competitive Coins, and Alpha Packs as part of the revamped reward structure.

Season 2 also introduces Calypso Casino, the first brand-new competitive map added to Siege since Year 8. Inspired by the classic setting from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, the map has been redesigned to fit modern competitive gameplay standards.

Ubisoft says Calypso Casino focuses heavily on vertical gameplay and tactical flexibility. New features include rooftop access via a crane, a basement spawn route, and an expanded drone vent system designed to create additional strategic opportunities for attackers and defenders alike. The map will launch directly into Ranked 3.0 and is scheduled to join the esports map pool in Season 3.

Meanwhile, Dokkaebi receives a significant Operator remaster that shifts her role toward a more focused intel-denial playstyle. Her gadget has been redesigned to encourage more deliberate tactical decisions, while a new primary weapon — the XK23 assault rifle — expands her offensive capabilities. The same weapon will also become available for Sens and Rauora.

Beyond gameplay additions, Ubisoft confirmed that native mouse and keyboard support will arrive on consoles later in the season. The feature will operate alongside specific matchmaking rules designed to preserve competitive balance and will work in conjunction with Mousetrap, Ubisoft’s anti-cheat system aimed at detecting unauthorized mouse and keyboard usage on consoles.

Additional updates in Operation System Override include balance changes, modernized versions of Emerald Plains, Kanal, and Outback, deeper esports integration with detailed team and player statistics, as well as rotating Ranked playlists and returning in-game events.

With Year 11 Season 2, Ubisoft is doubling down on Rainbow Six Siege’s competitive identity, aiming to deliver a more skill-focused and rewarding tactical shooter experience for both veteran players and newcomers alike.

More information about the new season can be found on the official Rainbow Six Siege website.
