Ubisoft, believe it or not, is shutting down its NFT game after less than just two years... Ubisoft recently confirmed it.

Ubisoft recently confirmed that it will shut down the servers for its NFT game called Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles. It is an NFT tactical game, and it will shut down on October 30, 2026. This decision comes less than two years after the game's release date, as it never actually managed to attract a larger number of players despite Ubisoft's big plans for Web3 technology.

Back in May, Ubisoft had already started abandoning the NFT features in this game due to changes in the blockchain infrastructure. At that time, the studio removed the ability to mint and trade NFT characters in the game, turning them into regular in-game heroes instead. Some of those NFTs were selling for more than $63,000 when the game was released, but after the removal of the Web3 functionality, they lost their original purpose.

And now it has finally been confirmed that the game, along with its servers, will shut down on October 30. So logically, the game will become completely unavailable to everyone.

This situation did not surprise the gaming community at all. Many players already knew from the beginning that a shutdown was completely expected after the NFT features were removed earlier this year.
