Ubisoft launches Rainbow Six Mobile globally with debut of Operation Sand Wraith
"Ubisoft officially launches Rainbow Six Mobile on iOS and Android, featuring 5v5 tactical combat, classic maps, and the new Operation Sand Wraith season."
Following years of intensive development and regional testing, Ubisoft officially launched Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Mobile worldwide on Monday, February 23, 2026. The free-to-play tactical shooter is now available on iOS and Android devices, bringing the high-stakes, competitive gameplay of the long-running Rainbow Six Siege franchise to a global mobile audience.
Developed primarily by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with eleven global studios, the title is not a direct port but a ground-up reconstruction designed for handheld devices. The game maintains the series’ signature five-versus-five "Attack vs. Defense" format, featuring the destructible environments and tactical gadgetry that defined its predecessor. At launch, the roster includes over 20 iconic Operators, such as Ash, Mute, and Dokkaebi, and offers a mix of classic maps like Bank and Border alongside mobile-exclusive locations including Restaurant and Summit.
The global rollout coincides with the debut of the game’s first official season, titled Operation Sand Wraith. This inaugural update introduces Deimos, a new Operator equipped with a "DeathMARK Tracker" designed to force intense one-on-one engagements. Ubisoft has confirmed that the mobile title will follow a seasonal live-service model, promising regular content updates to keep the competitive landscape evolving.
This launch marks a significant milestone for a project that has been in development for over six years. After several phases of closed betas and soft launches in territories like Canada and Latin America, the developers utilized player feedback to refine touch-sensitive controls and optimize performance for a wide range of mobile hardware. The game also includes specialized features such as an onboarding tutorial for newcomers and customizable interface options to suit various playstyles.
Industry analysts view this move as a strategic expansion for the Rainbow Six intellectual property, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary on PC and consoles with over 80 million registered players. By entering the mobile market, Ubisoft aims to capture a broader demographic while maintaining the tactical depth and teamwork-oriented focus that has sustained the franchise’s popularity for a decade.
