Being an Xbox fan these days isn't easy—it's an adventure packed with ups and downs, layoffs, exciting reveals, not-so-exciting results, and the like. Public opinion on Xbox remains deeply divided in the minds of the masses, but there is no denying they are actively working to deliver features players have long been asking for.
Now, Xbox is officially receiving its own version of the coveted "Platinum," dubbed the Mythic Achievement, which will be awarded to anyone who completes a game in its entirety.
Naturally, it will feature a distinct visual design that definitely looks more elite than standard achievements. The Mythic Achievement will be supported in the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day—a project with an estimated $400 million budget. Of course, it won't be the only one; don't worry, it will also be added retroactively to legacy titles, extending all the way back to the Xbox 360 era. It will roll out first to members of the Xbox Insider program.

The total count of earned Mythic achievements will be visible under a new "Gaming" tab on every user profile. That section will house total Gamerscore and Milestone Badges, alongside a library of every game in which you've unlocked achievements. For aesthetic flair, games that are 100% completed will feature a special border to make them stand out even further.
If you are part of the achievement/trophy hunter crowd, you'll also be glad to hear that DLC achievements will now be distinctly tagged as "Add-on," meaning they won't be mandatory to secure "Mythic" status.
As of right now, there is no official word on when these changes will roll out to all players worldwide.
