Today saw the launch of the remastered edition of The Witcher 3, placing this RPG firmly back in the spotlight of the gaming world. This is confirmed by record figures reaching 120,000 active players on Steam, an all-time high since the game's release. The last time CD Projekt Red's RPG surpassed 100,000 active players was back during COVID, in late 2020, when the first season of the Netflix series premiered.
Naturally, contributing to this milestone is the fact that the edition itself is free for anyone who owns the original game—amounting to no fewer than 60 million people. For those who do not own it, the game's price has unfortunately increased from €30 to €50, though that price does include all expansions released to date. Until October 1st, it is possible to grab the enhanced version for €25, or half price, if you don't already have it.
