As a warm-up for the extensive gameplay showcase of the Ocarina of Time remake, Shigeru Miyamoto personally shared a few details about the upcoming movie adaptation of The Legend of Zelda series. However, keep in mind that Nintendo is still not ready to show the first trailer.
It was first confirmed that the movie will simply be titled The Legend of Zelda, with Miyamoto adding: “You’ll understand why we chose this title once you’ve seen the movie.” The film will feature an original story inspired by ideas and concepts that have appeared throughout the Zelda games over the past 40 years. More details about the movie will be revealed at a later date.
Announced in November 2023, The Legend of Zelda movie is set to arrive in theaters on April 30, 2027, after which it will also become available on Netflix. So far, only official images of Link and Zelda have been revealed, along with several members of the creative team and the cast.
