The whole story began last week, and it was started by Xbox CEO Asha Sharma with her post on the social network X, where she said she had the opportunity to play The Elder Scrolls VI: *******, and in response to that post, the official Bethesda account wrote, "It was great being able to show you ********".
We didn't know what was hidden behind those asterisks, but the post itself was enough to spark an avalanche of internet detectives searching for an answer. A potential word that matches the length is Sentinel. Sentinel is the name of a kingdom located in Hammerfell and the capital of the Iliac Bay region. One of the rumors that has circulated the internet over the years regarding the story of TES 6 is that it will be set in the deserts of Hammerfell.
The mentioned rumor isn't confirmed true, but in case it turns out to be, it would mean Bethesda hinted at it to us as far back as 3 years ago—specifically in 2023—through their space game Starfield. Back then, this clue wasn't discovered.
The thing is, during character creation in Starfield, you always get the exact same employee number, and that number reads 190514-2009140512. Of course, the number itself doesn't mean anything concrete for this case, but that's where math and a bit of selective addition come into play. By splitting the numbers into pairs, you get the numbers 19, 05, 14, 20, 09, 14, 05, and 12, and if we match those numbers to their corresponding letters in the English alphabet, we get the word Sentinel.
Of course, it should be mentioned that this isn't a guaranteed interpretation of those numbers—if they even have one. Likewise, this might not be the only clue inside Starfield, as internet detectives noticed a suspicious scratch on a spaceship console in a trailer that resembles the shape of the Iliac Bay we already mentioned.
For now, we can only wait for something else to be found, because if you want to find something yourself, you'll have to boot up Starfield again—and that's not really such a great idea. At least if you ask me.
