TechPlay.gg: a local idea, a global gaming platform

TechPlay didn’t start as a massive platform. It began humbly—as a small WordPress site focused on the local gaming scene. We published our first news, tracked our first clicks, and were genuinely thrilled by every comment. It was our small window into the gaming world.

But as time passed, it became clear that TechPlay was outgrowing its original roots. The community was growing. The discussions were expanding, the passion was rising, and so was the need for a place that wasn't just another news portal—but a space that understands how gamers think, play, and live this hobby.

In parallel, the limitations of our platform became more apparent. Soulless templates, slow loading times, and the lack of a true "gaming experience" feel. At one point, the choice became clear: we either remain a standard portal—or we build something gamers can truly call home.

A leap into the unknown

We decided to start from scratch. No pre-made solutions. No shortcuts. Instead of a simple redesign, we opted for a total reconstruction—building our own platform from the ground up. It was a risk, but also the only way for TechPlay to become what it was always meant to be.

Today, TechPlay isn’t just a new website; it’s a new platform. With a database of over a million games, interactive user profiles, an XP and Achievement system that rewards your activity, and a design that is fast, clean, and focused exclusively on user experience—we have finally moved beyond the boundaries of a classic blog.

Switching to English and opening up to the global market isn't the end of our local story, but its natural evolution. It’s our way of saying: we are ready to offer something valuable—both locally and globally.

Our vision for 2026 - Global gaming platform

What you see today is just the foundation. The real story is only beginning. Our goal for 2026 is clear: to build a complete, connected, and rewarding gaming platform—together with the community.

• Q1: Setting the Foundation (January – March) The focus is on organizing your gaming life. We are introducing the Backlog & Collection Tracker, a system that allows you to track what you’ve played, what you plan to play, and how much time you spend in-game. Your library gets its own "shelves," detailed stats, and total control. Alongside this, we’re launching Custom User Lists and an enhanced User Review system—because your opinion should carry weight.

• Q2: Rewarding passion (April – June) It’s time for activity to be valued. We are launching the Bounty System, which allows you to build your reputation and earn points by creating guides, writing reviews, and helping other users. Those points become currency in our Loyalty Store—redeemable for exclusive badges, profile themes, and eventually, physical merchandise.

• Q3: Tools and Intelligence (July – September) The focus shifts to smart tools. Introducing the TechPlay RIG Builder—a configurator to help you assemble the ideal PC without worrying about compatibility. Simultaneously, we are developing Professor Buffy, an AI assistant that recommends games that actually make sense for you based on your habits and taste.

• Q4: Community and Mobility (October – December) We’re ending the year by celebrating the community. We are launching the TechPlay Community Awards, where users vote for the best games of the year. And finally, the most requested feature: the TechPlay Mobile App for iOS and Android. Your profile, your library, and your news, always with you.

Why are we doing all of this?

Because the gaming community deserves more than passive scrolling. It deserves a system that recognizes it, rewards it, and helps it enjoy games in a better way. This isn't just a new TechPlay. This is a new beginning.
