The Talos Principle 3 will reportedly be the last game in the entire series, and that is intentional; said developer Croteam.
Developer Croteam recently said they do not want to drag the franchise out forever just because it is popular. Their philosophy is that too many games and sequels means a series never truly has an ending.
For those of us who do not know; The Talos Principle is a philosophical puzzle game focused on AI, consciousness, and humanity. It is very well known for its insanely smart puzzles and existential crisis moments.
Many players consider it one of the most intelligent puzzle franchises ever made.
This statement is especially interesting because today almost every major franchise tries to last lowkey forever through sequels, live service, endless cliffhangers, etc etc...
That is why a lot of people actually reacted positively to this idea, because they also want the story to be told and finished properly instead of forcing sequels until the quality drops later on.
"The Talos Principle 9 Battle Pass Super Ultimate Edition" does not really sound like a good idea.
Because of that, fans mostly respect the decision and want a proper ending. They believe it is better to end the franchise with dignity than milk it for years. Honestly, that is actually pretty rare in the gaming industry today.
The Talos Principle 3 is supposed to be the finale of this franchise, the developers want a real ending instead of endless sequels, and a lot of people actually think that is a very based and rare approach today.
