Stranded Deep earned the status of a good survival game back in 2015 when it launched in early access, remaining in that state until 2022 when it released in its 1.0 version. The plot took place in the Pacific Ocean after a plane crash, and now its developers at Beam Team Games have announced a new game that will have a slightly different philosophy.
The biggest difference we saw in the trailer is that there will no longer be tropical islands in the middle of a vast ocean; instead, this time we will be exploring a harsh desert wilderness. This doesn't mean the developers have given up on the original water concept, but rather that there won't be an ocean here, but a massive river running through the desert—something like Egypt and the Nile.
Other features remain the same—it will still be in first-person, only we will have new locations and new animals, of which we saw crocodiles and hippos in the trailer. The yellow kayak characteristic of the first game also remains, and there are mobile bases as well.
Stranded Deep 2 has been announced for PC, and for now we don't have a release date.
