Prices for the Steam Machine have finally been revealed, and the internet isn't exactly happy about it because the prices are pretty high and wild. I honestly don't know who will be able to buy this.
After months of rumors, the first official prices for Valve's new Steam Machine have appeared, and players' reactions mostly come down to one question; "How am I supposed to buy this? Who is going to pay for all of this?"
According to the official information released, Steam Machine prices are as follows;
512GB without Controller: $1049
512GB + Controller Bundle: $1128
2TB without Controller: $1428

If you want the new Steam Controller included in the bundle, the price goes up to as much as $1428, putting the device in the same range as some pretty serious gaming PCs.
What concerns players the most is the price-to-value ratio, which is their biggest criticism of all this.
For over a thousand dollars, many people believe they could build a much more powerful PC themselves or buy a prebuilt configuration with Windows. Because of that, a lot of players are wondering whether SteamOS and the Valve ecosystem really justify such a high price.
Still, there are fans who believe that the simplicity of use and integration with Steam will be enough to attract buyers.
The Steam Machine looks very, very interesting, but its price has become the main topic of discussion because a price tag like that hurts both your head and your wallet.
If these numbers are accurate, Valve is not trying to beat PlayStation and Xbox on price, but rather create a premium device for the most dedicated Steam fans.
