Steam has just made life much easier for everyone by simplifying the process of buying gifts for your friends. On top of that, it has also introduced several new options for organizing your Wishlist.
Valve has just released a major update for Steam that brings numerous improvements to the game's gifting system. In addition, it introduces new options for organizing your Wishlist. The goal of this new Steam update is to make buying gifts much easier, while also allowing users to sort and share their Wishlists more conveniently.
The most interesting addition is that you no longer need to be someone's Steam friend to send them a game as a gift. Also, the gift recipient no longer needs to have a Steam account at the time of purchase. Instead, you can simply send the gift to their email address, and the game can be claimed once they register or sign in to Steam.
On top of that, the Wishlist has received some of its most requested organization features. Users can now create their own categories, filter games by those categories, and share only specific parts of their Wishlist, such as "Birthday Wish" or "Christmas List." Additionally, a new notification has been added to let users know when a game on their Wishlist receives a free demo.
The first player reactions have been very positive. Many believe these features have been needed for a long time, especially the ability to organize Wishlists and send gifts without the hassle of adding friends first. Users also welcome the ability to share individual Wishlist categories, making it much easier to buy gifts for birthdays and holidays.
Valve has modernized two important Steam systems at the same time, game gifting and the Wishlist.
Buying gifts is now much simpler, while the new Wishlist organization and sharing options make planning future purchases more convenient than ever.
