Steam has outdone itself once again and broken another record. It earned an incredible $11.1 billion in just 6 months! That's pretty insane!

Steam continues to dominate and remain the king of PC gaming once again. According to a recent analysis by Alinea Analytics, Valve's platform generated around $11.1 billion in gross revenue during the first half of 2026, making it one of the most successful six-month periods in Steam's entire history.

It's estimated that Steam generated 14.5% more revenue in the first six months of 2026 than during the same period in 2025. Even more impressively, this result was 8% higher than the second half of 2025, even though that period traditionally includes the holiday sales and the biggest game-buying season of the year.

Analysts also claim that this revenue growth was driven by the increasing number of players from China, higher prices for newly released games, the success of viral co-op titles, and the fact that older games continue to sell extremely well years after their original release.

Among gamers and analysts, these results have generated huge interest. Many point out that they further confirm just how dominant Steam has become as the leading PC gaming platform. Others also believe that this level of growth will make it even harder for competitors like the Epic Games Store to seriously challenge Valve's position.

Steam generated a record-breaking $11.1 billion in gross revenue during the first six months of 2026, making it the best first half of a year in the platform's history.

For Valve, this is yet another confirmation that the PC gaming market continues to grow, while Steam remains the undisputed leader in digital video game distribution.
