"Stalker 2 players can now access a free update that sets the stage for the game’s first major DLC, adding new content and improvements."

There has been a free update of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which has been provided as a preparation for the upcoming expansion of the game.

The update serves as a link between the main game and the expansion, giving some additional functions and content to enrich players' experience in the game.

It is smaller than an official expansion; however, developers want to give some incentives for players to go back to the game before something really big happens soon. This approach allows developers to build up some momentum, giving people more opportunities in the future and keep the player base while developing a major update and not hype the players too much, so they would not abandon the game.

Such approaches can mean that Stalker 2 will develop in a similar way for quite a long period of time.
