Sony Officially Raises PlayStation Plus Prices Again, and as the main reason they cited ongoing market conditions.

Starting May 20, the 1-month PS Plus subscription starts at $10.99, while the 3-month plan goes up to $27.99.
For now, the increases only affect new users and certain regions. Existing subscribers mostly keep the old prices unless their subscription expires or they change tiers.

This caused outrage among players.
Many players believe that a digital subscription should not constantly become more expensive, especially since Sony is already raising prices for their PlayStation 5 consoles and accessories, and even subscription prices over the last few years. A lot of people are even saying that "market conditions" is just a corporate way of saying they want more profit.

Sony is obviously trying to increase revenue from subscription services while the Premium and Extra tiers continue to grow. The company has been saying for a while now that it wants more recurring revenue and a longer-term live-service income model.

The gaming industry in general is becoming more expensive; consoles, subscriptions, AAA games, practically everything is getting more expensive. And Sony obviously believes that the PlayStation audience still will not quit despite the higher prices.

The community is very divided about this, some understand inflation and market problems while others think Sony is becoming too aggressive with price increases.

Sony is once again increasing PS Plus prices, with market conditions being the official reason for it.
New users will be the first to feel these major changes.

The community is increasingly criticizing the constant price increases across the PlayStation ecosystem.
