Sony is suddenly turning its back on PC gaming! PlayStation exclusives could once again remain console-only without ever being ported to PC!

For years and years, we've watched PlayStation hits like Marvel's Spider-Man, God of War, and The Last of Us slowly make their way to PC. However... It looks like Sony is changing its direction once again. New business documentation no longer mentions PC as part of the strategy for their biggest single-player games, and more and more sources claim that future PlayStation titles will remain completely exclusive to consoles such as the PlayStation 5.

According to information that recently surfaced during an internal Sony meeting, Hermen Hulst, head of the Studio Business Group, confirmed that Sony no longer plans to bring its major first-party single-player games to PC at all. Instead, the focus will be on strengthening the PlayStation ecosystem and the exclusivity of their biggest stories. In short, that means future titles such as Marvel's Wolverine, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and other major projects could remain tied to the PlayStation platform forever without ever being ported to PC. Multiplayer and live-service games, on the other hand, are still expected to release on PC.

As you can probably imagine; the internet immediately went crazy. One group of PlayStation fans believes this is a return to the true Sony strategy and that exclusives should remain exclusive. While others believe this is a step backward and that PC ports allowed millions of new players to experience Sony's legendary games. Many fans across the internet also point out that certain PC ports did not achieve the sales results Sony expected, which could be one of the reasons behind this change in strategy.

At one point, it seemed like almost every major PlayStation exclusive would eventually end up on PC sooner or later... But now it looks like Sony is locking the doors on PC players once again...

If this strategy truly remains in place, the era of waiting for PC ports of new God of War, Spider-Man, or Naughty Dog games could come to a complete end...

For PlayStation, this is a huge win for exclusivity and console sales, but for PC players, it's definitely not something they wanted to hear...
