An incredible decision by Riot Games! They have decided to bring back the old League of Legends Classic, but the studio also warns that we shouldn't expect the exact same game as before.
After countless rumors over the years, Riot Games has finally officially revealed League of Legends Classic. It is a new mode that brings players back to the early days of this popular MOBA hit. However, the studio also tells us that the goal is not to create a complete copy of the old League of Legends, but to revive its original spirit with certain modern improvements.
According to Riot Games, this new Classic mode brings back many elements that veteran players have remembered since the game's early days. These include old champions, the original rune and mastery systems, legendary items like Deathfire Grasp, as well as iconic builds such as AP Master Yi and the old Sion. However, despite all of that, the game will not be a faithful recreation of any specific version of League of Legends. Instead, it will be a combination of the most beloved elements from earlier seasons of League of Legends, with a special focus on Season 3.
Riot Games also confirmed that Classic will evolve over time through community voting, allowing players to decide which changes and content will be added in the future, similar to the model used by Old School RuneScape.
Fan reactions to this situation are divided. One group of fans is excited about the return of old champions, runes, and the legendary gameplay. Meanwhile, others believe that Classic will not be authentic enough because it still keeps certain modern features and visual improvements.
Most of the discussion is centered around Riot Games' decision to create a modern interpretation of the classic instead of a complete recreation of the original League of Legends experience.
League of Legends Classic brings back many beloved elements from the game's early days, but Riot Games makes it clear that this is not a time machine to the past.
Instead of copying an old version, the studio wants to combine nostalgia with modern design and let the community shape the future of Classic mode through voting.
