Resident Evil: Veronica is finally real! Capcom has finally announced a remake of the legendary Code: Veronica title.
After years and years of nothing more than ordinary rumors, Capcom has officially announced Resident Evil: Veronica, a remake of the legendary Code: Veronica game. The game is coming in 2027 and represents another major return of a classic following the success of the Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 remakes.
The most interesting part about all of this is that this is the remake fans have been asking for the longest. Ever since Resident Evil 2 Remake, many expected that Code: Veronica would be the next game in line for a remake, but Capcom apparently skipped it directly because of Resident Evil 4. Because of that, Veronica spent years being a sort of lost family member among the modern Resident Evil remakes.
The original Resident Evil, or rather Code: Veronica, was released all the way back in 2000 and follows Claire and Chris Redfield in one of the most important stories in the entire franchise. Many fans believe the game was more important to the main lore of the Resident Evil series than some of the sequels that received remakes before it.
Fan reactions have mostly been joyful, and people were happy that they finally got a remake of this game. For years, rumors had been circulating online that the remake was still in development, and fans analyzed every possible clue. Even small details in Resident Evil Requiem sparked new theories that Capcom was preparing Veronica's return. Now that the announcement is official, it feels like one of the biggest wishes of the entire fandom has FINALLY COME TRUE!
Capcom has just checked off one of the biggest items on the Resident Evil wishlist. If the quality is on the level of the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes, Veronica has the potential to go from an underrated classic to ONE OF THE BEST MODERN RESIDENT EVIL GAMES EVER!
2027 is still far away, but fans have been waiting for this for more than 20 years. They can hold on a little longer.
