Persona 6, the game that all fans have been waiting for, has finally been announced... But we literally still know nothing about it, not even the slightest thing.

After years and years of rumors, leaks, and copium; Atlus has finally officially confirmed that Persona 6 is in development, but that's also where we come to the biggest problem. This announcement was almost identical to the legendary announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI; we literally got only the name of the game and a very short teaser without anything else important. No gameplay, no release date, and not even any serious details. And yes, the internet logically went crazy immediately.

The funniest and most interesting thing about this is that fans spent years waiting for a huge reveal, and Atlus did something that Bethesda has been doing for almost a decade; "Yeah, the game exists. See you later!" The teaser hints at a darker tone than previous Persona games, but other than that, there is practically no concrete information. This is the first completely new mainline Persona title since Persona 5, which originally released in 2016.

Just a few days ago, alleged leaks featuring a logo and characters for Persona 6 were circulating online. Many people were skeptical about them, but DMCA takedowns by Sega further fueled the idea that an announcement was actually close. Now we know that the rumors were on the right track.

Fan reactions are a mix of massive hype and collective laughter. Fans are extremely happy that Persona 6 is finally a real thing, but many are joking that Atlus just pulled off the "Elder Scrolls VI maneuver", because they announced the game, showed a logo, and left for a few years.

Persona 6 is finally official, but aside from confirming that the game exists and is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC, Atlus has given us almost nothing concrete. The hype is huge, but now a new wait begins; for the first real trailer, gameplay reveal, and release date.
