“Well, that issue has finally come to an end—partially. Insomniac Games has rolled out a new patch for Marvel’s Wolverine (version 1.001.006) that allows players to disable indicators for side content.”

Marvel’s Wolverine is a game that stirred up plenty of controversy for a variety of reasons. Some argued that the combat was mere button mashing masked by an unusually violent presentation, sorely lacking depth. Other complaints centered on pointless QTEs and motorcycle sequences where you could set the controller down entirely and the game would handle everything on its own.

A third major grievance among the gaming community was the GPS navigation aids—specifically the white paint highlighting ledges and paths, alongside the blue scent trail guiding players to both primary and secondary objectives.

Well, that issue has finally come to an end—partially. Insomniac Games has rolled out a new patch for Marvel’s Wolverine (version 1.001.006) that allows players to disable indicators for side content. This applies to collectible whiskey bottles, crafting material crates, and doors leading to Nightmare challenges.

No, this doesn't mean you can completely remove the white paint and blue guidance directing your path through what is an entirely linear game—that would be asking too much. As the official patch notes state, "Story-critical Senses will still appear in the world."

It is worth noting that developers had already toned down the intrusiveness of the blue visual trail in a previous update. On top of the navigation toggle, this latest patch also resolves crashing issues alongside several minor quality-of-life fixes.
