A new product is coming out for all fans of the SEGA Mega Drive console! It’s presented as the perfect gift for all lovers of retro consoles. The focus is on nostalgia and old games.

It’s called the LEGO SEGA Genesis console, the release date is June 1st this year, priced at $40!

This is a modern version, kinda like a mini console inspired by the SEGA Mega Drive.
And it comes WITH BUILT-IN GAMES! Such as Sonic, Mortal Kombat, and many others.
It’s plug & play, you can literally just connect it to your TV and start playing.
It comes with controllers and both AV and HDMI connections.

But it’s important to note that this is not a new console generation, it’s pure nostalgia bait (but very warm and good).
It’s aimed at older players, collectors, and casual gaming.
In other words; a return to childhood in one package.

Retro consoles are already a trend anyway, Nintendo Mini and PlayStation Classic are popular.
As for SEGA, they don’t have modern consoles today. But they use their old hits as a business model. And the SEGA Mega Drive is one of the most legendary consoles from the 90s.
Today, products like this come with dozens of games already included.

This shows that retro gaming still has that loyal old audience, and it’s also an easy way for someone to get into old games without dealing with emulators.
Plus, it’s a perfect gift for older gamers, which is the whole point.

So this is not a new console generation, but a retro device with built-in games.
The focus is on nostalgia and gifts.

It’s more of a fan-service product, not meant for hardcore gaming but for vibe and memories so that every fan get sent back straight to childhood :)
