"FromSoftware has finally given a date for a long-awaited update for Elden Ring. In August 2026, new character classes and new armor sets are arriving"

Elden Ring will receive new classes and new armor in August 2026.

FromSoftware has finally given a date for a long-awaited update for Elden Ring. In August 2026, new character classes and new armor sets are arriving, something fans have been asking for for a very long time, ever since the game itself launched. However... there is one small problem with all of this; and that is that literally nobody still knows whether this update will be free or paid.

The new classes are probably the biggest and most interesting thing in this entire package. Elden Ring is already known for its massive build freedom, but new starting classes mean that players will have completely new ways to begin a playthrough. For players who have already spent thousands and thousands of hours creating various challenge runs and experimental builds, this actually means much more than it might currently sound like on paper. The new armor is just a bonus on top of that.

Fans are mostly happy about this new content and are very hyped, but there is one topic that is being discussed literally everywhere; "HOW MUCH IS ALL OF THIS GOING TO COST??"
Across the internet, many people assume the content will be free, because new classes and armor sets don't sound big enough for a DLC. On the other hand, FromSoftware still hasn't given any official answer regarding the whole situation, so fan theories are currently at maximum levels. The truth is that everyone is indeed excited, but at the same time everyone is also keeping an eye on their wallet.

The new classes in Elden Ring are probably one of the most interesting additions to the base game since the release of Shadow of the Erdtree. August has finally received a date that Elden Ring fans will definitely be waiting for. But until FromSoftware confirms the price, the Elden Ring community will continue doing what it does best; analyzing every detail and creating theories as if they were investigating new Souls lore.
